Ronkonkoma

Hi everyone- I was a pretty established poster over at LIW for years but never got a chance to post here yet - this is the first one.

I was wondering if anyone can share what they know about Ronkonkoma with me? Good areas? Bad areas? Good school district (Sachem or Connequot?) etc.

We are dabbling with the idea of moving and someone my DH works with suggested Ronkonkoma.

TIA

Re: Ronkonkoma

Ronkonkoma is large...
there is also the area by the lake...

I personally like ronkonkoma...
there are som areas not so nice by the train sta. and some not so nice areas by the lake
But the area as a whloe has truned over a lot in the past 3 years.

Both school districts are good
with sachem comes higher...MUCH higher taxes...especially since the SD just tried to pass a 18% increaseChat Icon

Re: Ronkonkoma

I grew up in Ronkonkoma, went to Connetquot and lived in the "Lake Hills" section, which is basically between the expressway and motor parkway. It's a really good location. Very easy access to highways and stuff, but not like on top of the highways either. I liked living there growing up.
