Romantic B&B recs...2-3 hours away
BF & I have birthdays a week apart and instead of gifts we thought we'd spend the weekend away. We're looking for a B&B within a 2-3 hour driving range, any help is appreciated :)
TIA

Buttermilk Falls Inn is gorgeous with lots to do on site and in the area.

It's a little further away, but we were just up in Stowe, VT and had dinner at the Edson Hill Manor. It's a beautiful Inn and I literally told DH that next time we MUST come up and stay there. Literally the most romantic place I have ever been to in my life. The whole inn is just spectacular. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere on the mountain, snow falling everywhere, set on acres and acres of land. The rooms are these individual little cottages with wood burning fireplaces (they stock you full of wood each day), king beds, huge soaking tubs, beautiful furniture. Then the main inn is just amazingly cozy with candlelit lanterns hanging on the porch, benches and rockers covered with overstuffed pillows and blankets. You walk in and the whole place is lit in candles and there's a warm fire going in the living room (which is just a huge room full of couches and chairs with pillows and plush rugs...perfect place for a drink) with huge windows that overlook their entire property. The dining room is amazingly romantic with the same gorgeous view, another fireplace, huge wooden beams across the ceiling, and glass bulbs filled with candles hanging from the ceiling. Downstairs in the tavern its much smaller and cozier with a gorgeous wood bar, some more couches next to the fireplace, and small tables.
I would hole up in one of the King Suites for a weekend in a heartbeat. The attention to detail in this place is just unbeatable and it's breathtakingly romantic

It's a little over 3 hours, but we went to the Berkshires for our 5 year anniversary and it was great. The towns around there are so cute, and we stayed at an awesome B&B.

We stayed in the School House room and it was very romantic. We're already planning to go back in a few years.
