Robin Williams Autopsy Press Conference from Marin Co Sheriff's Office
He was found by his personal assistant slightly suspended in a sitting position. A belt around his neck which was wedged between the door and the door frame
His left wrist had several cuts on it
The sheriff is not commenting about the note or even if a note was left at this time.
His wife left the house at 10am thinking Robin was still asleep.
Toxicology will be released in 2-6 weeks.
I'm watching this press conference right now and the questions the reporters are asking are so ridiculous!

OMG I can't imagine what must've been going through his mind in those final days/moments that led up to this. Truly gone too soon. Depression is no joke.

Honestly I really wish the Medical Examiner would stop putting out so many "details" about his death. For his poor family's sake. The media doesn't need to know exactly what position he was found or any other morbid details. It's a shame bc the man has suffered enough! Let him rest in peace with dignity. I hope these details don't overshadow the gentle soul and comedic genius he was.

I completely agree.
As someone whose father has attempted this (though thank god he hasn't actually done it..) ...I cannot imagine what it's like for his kids to have to deal with this, let alone in the public eye.

The other questions the reporters were asking were just so tasteless, I guess is the word to use.
Have funeral arrangements been made and if they have where re they?
Was he clothed?
Did rigor mortis set in?
where was his wife?
why wasn't his wife home?
what did the note say?
they must've asked 10 different times and ways how he was found
what time did he go to bed?
do they know what time he died?

I agree. I can't imagine what it must be like for his wife and children to hear the details over and over.

I, like many others, am so saddened by this. I REALLY feel like I knew him, like he wasnt this larger than life "movie star" he seemed like your uncle or friend, if I ever saw him I would probably hug him and say Hi like I knew him personally. Just such sad tragedy.

 I agree. Out of respect for the deceased and his children, they shouldn't be releasing this information and asking such ridiculous questions. It's really nobody's business. I want to remember him the way he was... always bringing joy to others.

I just wonder....I know he was depressed, and I know many people who have personally succumbed to it. I just wonder.....if someone was there, if he had given it one more day, one more hour....if his outlook would have lifted JUST enough to have not taken this drastic step. I know when you are in it, you can be at its mercy. There are others I know, who have been equipped with the tools to get through it, as long as it takes, to know its the disease talking and then eventually the fog will lift. It will return, but it does lift.....if had just given it one more day.....would he still be gone?

It;s disgusting they release these details, suicide by asphyxication is all we need to know. Not what color shirt he was wearing or what position he is in, leave those details for family only.
This once again proves depression and or addiction are a disease and not a choice, just like having cancer. Hard to wrap your mind around it but maybe this will help and in some way have a positive effect to have people seek help.
