RMA Consult
Yesterday, DH and I had our consult with Dr. Mukherjee at RMA. I left the consult feeling hopeful for the first time since July.
He noted some changes that he would make to our protocol that he feels will improve our embryo quality. The two big things that he is looking to change are the amount of meds I take (my E2 levels were very high both times and he feels as though I do not need as many meds) and the length of I am stimming (most importantly noting that my follicles were very large by the time I triggered). He is hoping both of these changes will improve our embryo quality.
He also suggested PGD if we wanted - I had already started looking into this prior to our consult so we may move forward with that as well. He also suggested on doing a fresh cycle and then waiting until the following month to do a FET. Not sure how I feel about that and will need to read up more about it.
Fingers crossed.

Re: RMA Consult
I've come across a few people who had their retrieval but elected not to do a transfer until next cycle and have had success! Good luck to you

I had my first consult at RMA this week too but with Dr. Sandler. So far first impression with the staff are very good. Like you I feel pretty hopeful too. Eager to start the whole process. I have to do my HSG and day 3 bloodwork then schedule another appt. good luck!!

Re: RMA Consult
I saw Dr. Mukherjee for a time. I would describe him as very warm, bright and knowledgeable, and proactive: when things fail for reasons he can't explain, he tweaks the protocol and does things diagnostically to get to the root.
I'm not surprised he suggested PGD. He did for me as well. My current doctor has a different philosophy on that point that I'll share and you can take both under consideration:
When embryo quality is an issue, they are also arguably fragile, and the process of biopsying a cell, freezing, and thawing may stress a fragile embryo to the extent that what may have become a pregnancy doesn't.
On the other hand, it's the only sure fire way to know if you are making anything viable. I have struggled with the decision myself over and over, so I really understand your dilemma. But maybe give him a call and ask those questions so you can reason your way through the choice.

RMA Consult
I am up in the air about PGD and the FET, but I am hoping that the change in protocol and lab conditions will improve the embryo quality so maybe PGD will not be necessary. Also I am hoping to have some fresh sperm to work with by our cycle in July...
Seeing as how both of my former cycles have modifications that need to be made, he said it is difficult to pinpoint the cause of the embryo quality issue. If our next cycle has the same issue, hopefully he can provide more insight.
