Riverhead - Let me just say!
It seems that a lot of people have not so great things to say about Riverhead in the past. It has been some people who don't know squat about the town, but jump on the bandwagon of trash talking it.
Well, let me just tell you.... I went to a fundraiser the other night at the High School. It was a "Crazy Sports Night" where teachers, staff and administrators teamed up (per school) and did fun activities (bball shoot out, tug of war, etc). This fundraiser was to benefit two boys in the town (one who has suffered major issues following a fire, one who is dealing with cancer).
Anyway, my point being.... the place was PACKED! The one thing I really like about this town is the sense of community and how everyone SUPPORTS one another. When I got there, they had one side of bleachers open. It was filled up in no time and they had to open the entire other side PLUS they had people sitting on the floor and standing in doorways.
People can say what they say and have ZERO knowledge about what this town is like. Yes, I understand that education goes deeper than a one night fundraiser, but if you saw what I saw that night, you would know what I mean. I am just starting with my kids into the SD, and I have a feeling I am going to really like it!

That is fantastic! I love a community with pride! I have a client in Riverhead now so I'm spending a lot of time there and I really like it!

Im part of the PTA & volunteered that night ..it was Awesome to see the school spirit from teacher's & staff & the turn out from the locals. I love my my son's elementary school & have a new respect for the others in the district. It was a great night,each family got over $2,000 each to help there kids. Im proud to be part of the Riverhead school/community.
Ps: my son is thriving in school

DW and I are graduates of the Riverhead school system, and we still have family in the district. I still think it's a good district, and I'm glad I graduated from there.

This is one of the BIGGEST reasons we love Riverhead. It is what makes us SO eager to move back. As much as the areas has grown and expanded, it still maintains the "small town" feeling.

I have come to learn that the people who have something bad to say have never set foot in the town and heard from a friend of a friend. I love Riverhead and I don't even live there.
