Riccota cheese
Are we allowed to eat Riccota cheese while pregnant. I heard soft cheeses are not allowed, and I assume it isn't. Also, I heard the fresh mozzarella cheese isn't also. Does that mean we can't eat pizza?

I never ate it buy itself, but always in baked ziti, or with my pasta... And I ate pizza ALL the time...

I didn't even think of this - and I am making baked ziti tomorrow!!! I think its fine if its pasteurized, also, wouldn't cooking it make it safe??????

It's fine. As long as it's pasteurized, most cheeses are fine.

Yes, ricotta cheese is okay since it is made with pasteurized milk. The mozzarella on pizza is also made with pasteurized milk -- its not fresh mozzarella. The fresh is the kind you get in the water or oil in the deli dept.
