Reusing crib mattress

We are finally about to make the transition of putting DD in a big girl bed so I can use her crib for our new baby.

I just figured I would use the same crib mattress I used for DD for the new baby, but now I'm wondering if I should get a new mattress? It's a good Naturpedic mattress and is still very firm, but I imagine it's been softened over the 3 years that DD has used it.

Did you buy a new mattress or just reuse your older child's crib mattress?

We reused ours-- never occurred to me to get a new one. I think its fine, unless your DC1 jumped on it a whole lot i cant image that a couple of years of use would effect its firmness much.

Like PP's said... we reuse it. It's yours so you know how clean it is. We reused a lot of the same stuff when we had DS2. Toys, blankets, clothes, etc.

Ok great! Definitely makes my life easier (and less expensive!) to just reuse DD's crib mattress.

Re: Reusing crib mattress

I'll be reusing the mattress for a third time, but both of my kids barely slept in their cribs.
