reuse infant seat or new one?
with ds i used a graco safeseat my bff used on her kid.its gender neutral and hasnt expired.
im torn whether to use it on dd and spend ,60 getting a girly cover off ebay
or
buy a new one that isnt as heavy in a girly pattern spend like 150 but ill also be able to use it for third kid otherwise this one would be expired by then.

the rules say never to use a hand me down car seat...
however...
if its not expired and you knowfor a FACT that is has never been involved in a collision- id consider it. also you can wash the whole thing - all the fabric etc.

DS' carseat expires 2 mos after DD is due. We are getting a new one from the start.

I would NEVER EVER get a used one from Ebay. Maybe a friend if I KNEW 100% it wasn't in an accident.

i think she meant getting a cover off ebay not the actual car seat
anywa - if you already used it for your ds, its gender neutral and its not expired i don't see why you would get another seat or cover now if you don't know when youll have a 3rd child
eta: i wouldn't get a girly pattern if you got a new one especially if you want baby #3.
i would use that one again

Both of my boys used the same infant seat - (it was new for the first) they are 2 years apart.
If you alreayd used it hand me down for one, and it hasn't expired, I don't see why you wouldn't use it for the other-
I would keep it gender neutral though -

Sorry, missed that word. In that case, I don't think I'd spend the money on the cover unless it was in bad shape.
i would use that one again

I don't think the cover is in bad shape........
But I want a really girly cover since dd is coming this October....
.... I think I'm trying to justify the new seat now because it would be lighter and would last longer that then snugride 35 which got too heavy too fast.. I think we stopped using that around 6 months.
