Retrieval with ?'s
I had my retrieval yesterday and 10 eggs were retrieved. My RE said the average is higher. I was just wondering how many eggs were retrieved for everybody else??
Also, I had to pick my meds up from my RE's office. When I went, all the meds that needed to be refridgerated were banded together, including my progesterone injections. Last night when i went to give myself the injection the bottle stated to not put in the fridge. Did this mess anything up??

I think the # they retrieve depends on your age and circumstance. The least I had retried was 6, the most was 14.
The only issue with refrigerating the progesterone is that it is thickened up from being cold. Just take it out of the fridge so the next injection will probably be smoother.

i think the number retrieved is different for everyone
i had 30 retrieved and only 10 fertilized. so, in my case, the number retrieved didn't really matter at all!

Personally I cannot believe an RE would even say that. Its stupid in my opinion. Also, quality over quantity. Aslo the older you are the less you will likely get. I don't know how old you are but still what would be the purpose of saying that to you. Basically you only need one and getting 10 eggs is very good. I hope you get a great fertility report. Don't stress, you did great.

I am 30 years old and I only had 10 retrieved as well. My Dr. seemed to think that was an average number.
Although I do understand where you are coming from as my friend who had IVF had 30 eggs retreived....but each person is different. Just hang in there and dont concentrate on #s concentrate on your little fertilizing embies!

yea honestly age plays a BIG role in this.... im 26 and they retrieved 24 follies... But dont forget to look at the big picture here... its QUALITY vs. quantity...

Everyone responses differently. I don't know if age makes a diffence or not.
Each retrieval my count goes up
11, 19 ,23
I make a lot of eggs, but unfortunately the quality sucks.. so as long as it's quality not quaintly
