Has anyone had their deck sanded and restained? If so, who did you use and about how much was it? Thanks!

Re: Restaining a deck
We've been looking into this as well. It seems you should power wash it, stain and seal.

Re: Restaining a deck
we did our own this past weekend. Rented sander from Home Depot and sanded on Saturday, stained on Sunday. We weren't going for perfection - - just enough to get another year or two out of an older deck.
So far - looks good. Cost us under $200 and a weekend of outdoor work.

Re: Restaining a deck
We got a bunch of quotes for doing this and it is definitely more expensive than we thought it would be - between $700-900 depending on the quotes we got. We do not have a large deck by any means - one guy said it was rather small (his price was the best).
The materials (stain, cleaner, bleach) alone are going to run us close to $300.
It is hard work and not something I think we can tackle ourselves.
FM me if you want the names of some of the places we got quotes from...we're in Nassau.
