RE's office is closed on Sundays
Just got back from my IUI consult. Apparently they are closed on Sundays. Is that unusual?

She said if that's the case they will do an IUI on Saturday and then on Monday to cover all bases.

Me too. IMO a good RE is open 7 days a week.

Re: RE's office is closed on Sundays
My other office was closed on Sundays. I didn't like it so I switched. My new office isn't open all day on Sunday, but they're there for an hour, which is perfectly fine by me. I've had to have IUIs on Sundays a few times. It could very possibly be a make it or break it deal for me. Just something to consider, since you're not too far into treatment right now.

Re: RE's office is closed on Sundays
Hmmmm that sounds odd- Mine is open 365 days a year (or so I was told) and I've been there 2 dozen times on Sundays for sure...

Me too. Your body works 7 days a week and so should they. I don't feel that Sat and Mon would cover the bases if you are O'ing on Sun.

Re: RE's office is closed on Sundays
UGH. So I don't know what to do. My ob/gyn said that he refers patients to this practice, and to another one. I looked up the other one and they are actually located closer to my house and have office hours 365 days a year, but I'm hesitant to switch at this very moment when I'm scheduled for an IUI next week.
I think I'll just schedule an appointment with the other practice for the following week and check them out, and make a decision from there.

Just so you know, also...not to be too pushy here but I switched doctors mid-IUI cycle and the new office did my IUI for me and I had it on a Sunday and I got pregnant...no pressure...

Now THAT is incentive!
What do I do? Would I have to get a copy of my charts from my RE and bring it with me to the new doctor or is that something they would handle?

I'd call the other RE and see what they recommend. If they can't get you in, then do this cycle with your current RE and then switch. I would try to go to the other practice though. If you ovulate on a sunday you don't want to miss it.

I gotta tell you, when I went I didn't bring anything. They hadn't sent my records over yet. I can't remember, did you do anything like Clomid? Are natural cycle? If you can get into the new office, they can just give you a sono and see what's happening.
It's no guarantee that every office will do what my office did, and that's something you can ask...or, maybe you could just switch when you're cycles over...and pray you don't O on a Sunday!

No clomid - this is my first IUI, totally natural. I will call later today and set up an appointment and just go from there...

Re: RE's office is closed on Sundays
Good for you, I would absolutely switch...no reason why an RE would be closed on a Sunday. The only day my RE was closed was x-mas day ( and I believe they even said someone would come in on an as needed basis)

I would never go to an RE that wasn't open on Sunday...trying to cover the bases is just not good enough.
