Republic Airport for airshow
Just dont wanna deal with the crowds at the beach and a friend was saying she goes to Republic Airport to watch the planes take off and land. Anyone watch from there? How is it? Since the show is til 3, if we got there at 11...would that be good?

Re: Republic Airport for airshow
You can park all around the airport on 109, 110, and New Highway. And you can park in the Airport Plaza parking lot. All of the different plans take off and land at different times, but if you want to see the Blue Angels you want to go probably closer to 1 or 2. I forget what time they go on. It does get crowded by the airport though.
You can also go tomorrow and see them practice. They've been practicing the last couple of days. My dad lives by there and we just sit in the yard and watch them over the house. It's pretty cool.

I saw them take off yesterday from the airport - it wasn't that impressive and it was quick. If you want to see a show, go to the airshow.

I would park in the Home Depot Parking lot. Depending on the weather and winds you will be able to se both of the runways from that parking lot. The lot does get quite a few people but you will not have an issue finding a spot.
I always go to the air show by boat but we stop a tthe deli in that parking lot and people are there early.

Re: Republic Airport for airshow
I've brought my kids to the Airport the past 3 years as I can not deal with the crowds at the beach with 2 under 5. There really is not a bad spot. I usually park by Dave and Busters just because there is a area of grass the kids can play on. Which way the planes will take off and land depends on the wind so that can change during the course of the day. All the planes do fly overs so you get to see them all. Just no stunts or any thing like that.I will warn you though if you happen to be by the Blue Angels when they take off cover your kids ears its extremely loud!

They are doing work in that area so there might not be the grass area anymore
