Repost from Careers
DH and I just booked 2 weeks in Europe - we're visiting family and friends.
I start a new temporary position next week, after three months it will hopefully become permanent. I didn't tell them about the trip - will they be ******? Its two weeks in a row? I will have the days, its just the chunk together I'm worried about. I was thinking to tell them we're going for a Christening (We are seeing a new cousin). Its too late now b/c its booked, but I'm freaking out about it.

It's just a temp position? I wouldn't worry too much since it's not your permanent job but I would tell them right away "I'm sorry but I have a trip that is already booked" b/c there's nothing you can do really. And ask if it's OK-- try and suggest making up the time in another way?

When is the trip? You definitely need to inform them ASAP.

How soon is the trip? When they offer you the position permanently, I would mention it to them.
