REPOST: Basement Doctor? Anybody ever use them?

Well, our new basement's a wreck. Probably the only part of the house that isn't in good shape. I was looking into them and considering calling them to come give us an estimate for both waterproofing and remodeling. I'm sure it's expensive, but money aside, has anybody ever gotten this done and what was your experience like? Also, it's SO damp in our basement and we have yet to get a dehumidifier. Would the waterproofing eliminate the need for one, because I won't buy one just yet if that's the case. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I didn't but a friend of oursthat lives upstate did. I am not sure how much it cost but she said they sealed everything in then they put these fabric like panels on the wall-you can hang pictures from them. They love it. They said it is so cozy down there and no humidity at all.

Thanks for your response. Judging from the fact that nobody around here has gotten it done, I'm wondering if it will be a waste of time to even get an estimate

DH & I are interested in waterproofing our basement. We were going to do it ourselves (not something I look forward too) but would love to find someone who can do it for us if it is affordable! I would love to know about the costs associated with it when you have any info too!
