Repost - Travel - Hershey Park
I'm thinking of taking my kids there for the weekend. My DH can't go with us due to work responsibilities that cannot be avoided. I've never been there before. Can anyone tell me what the park is like? the rides? is it worth staying the entire weekend (2 days) or is an overnight stay enough and a day at the park? help?

Re: Repost - Travel - Hershey Park
We just went this past weekend. We didn't take Ava, just adults only, but we had a blast. If you want to take them on the water rides, I'd go to the park for two full days, if not, then one would be sufficient. They have a ton of children's rides and Chocolate World is great. I was a little disappointed at the cleanliness of their food stations, they were actually really dirty and gross, but I am attributing that to just how crowded and busy they were. But still, I loved it and had a great time.

I have been there a couple of times in the last few years. We go for the whole weekend and have a great time. If you have any questions, just ask.

I posted on Travel. Here is what I wrote:
I would go for 2 days. The first day you & your DC can do Chocolate World. You have to do the 3-D show, the trolley ride & all the activities there. The next day you can do the park.

Re: Repost - Travel - Hershey Park
We're going for the weekend.
As for the kids, how old are they? The park is geared mostly for older kids, but there are a few kiddie rides too. Last year, one of the kids in our group was an inch too short for all the "cool rides", so he's so excited to go this year.
Either way, it's so much fun! I'm going in 2 weeks!

Re: Repost - Travel - Hershey Park
You're getting most of your questions answered. FH grew up in Hershey and his parents live there. We go frequently.
For adults, one day at the park is enough - the kids will probably enjoy two days, though, if they are into the rides. Plus, you could do one day of rides and one day at the Boardwalk (water stuff) and Zoo America. Zoo America is only good for about an hour or so.
ETA - There is also chocolate world which is basically a big store, but also has a little tour of how chocolate is made, etc.
Everything combined, you have enough to fill 2 days!

The water rides were in the same park, and they had ones for all different ages. We stayed at the Harrisburg Sheraton, it was beautiful.

If you have AAA, get your tickets for the park through them for a discount.

Re: Repost - Travel - Hershey Park
We used to go Friday night, go to park on Saturday, stay late and then leave Sunday.
Hershey is soooo nice. The rides are great. Has a great kid area. We love Hershey. It's super clean and the crowd is MUCH better than Great Adventure.
We always stay about 20 minutes from Hershey because it's cheaper, usually in Lancaster.

We're staying in the Sheraton too! I was so confused because lst year it was a Wyndham and I couldn't find it online! But the photos of the Shearton looked just like it.....very confusing....
