Report: Brit Runs Over Sheriff's Foot, Investigation Under Way
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the LAPD is conducting an investigation into a traffic mishap Friday, when Britney Spears ran over an L.A. County Sheriff deputy's foot.
We're told the "traffic collision complaint" was filed by the Sheriff's Department and the LAPD is conducting an "active investigation." We're told the LAPD is looking at the possibility of hit and run.
The incident occurred as Brit was leaving the L.A. County Courthouse after her custody hearing.
UPDATE: The LAPD tells TMZ "The LAPD is aware that Britney Spears was leaving the courthouse. We are also aware that a deputy was injured. The LAPD is unable to confirm the details on the deputy's injury because the investigation is in its initial stage."

OMG...
The girl is def a disaster.. but who WOULDN"T run over someone's foot in that situation? Why the hell is a cop so close to her MOVING car in the first place?

I don't know why the officer is standing so close to the car. Makes me wonder if he's trying to cash in. I can imagine it's hard enough to drive with all the paparazzi and gawkers, he doesn't need to be right on top of the car.
Then again, why doesn't she just hire a driver?

ITA - I highly doubt this was intentional. I think people put themselves in the path of disaster and the cop set themselves up - sorry. I can't see this being her fault

There probably isnt anything I can defend that she has done, but I'm sorry, I don't think this is her fault. How could she have seen this person's foot in the rear passenger side of the car?? I don't think this was intentional at all. How can anyone drive when you are mobbed with all these people practically jumping on her car???

Far be it from me to defend this moron on any issue, but, what are they investigating her for? This wasn't her fault. It seems the Sheriff shouldn't have been that close to her car. If any one was an idiot here, it was the Sheriff.
