Rent Stabilized Apartments
My lease is up in May and we just got the renewal. My rent is increasing by 20% even though it is a rent stablized apartment.
Can anyone direct me to a website or number to call for further research? This seems outrageous to me and I will have to move if we can't get this sorted out.
I hate how shady landlords can be!

Re: Rent Stabilized Apartments
I believe you have to check with the county.
I lived ina rent stabilized apartment, and when we got the renewal it included a letter saying the county had not voted on the increase yet, so it was based on the current rate, and may be adjusted when they did vote.
Then when they did vote, we received another letter from the county.
