A Suffolk man was arrested Thursday morning on charges that he sold tickets in a phony raffle for a waterfront dream home, then never gave away the home.
Scott Cicerone, 32, of North Babylon, stole $100,000 from people who bought $50 raffle tickets for the man's million-dollar waterfront home in Massapequa. Cicerone used the raffle money to pay for luxury vacations and payments on his Mercedes-Benz, prosecutors said.
District attorney investigators arrested Cicerone Thursday morning and charged him with first-degree scheme to defraud and 21 misdemeanor counts of petty larceny. He faces up to 4 years in prison and was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court, Hempstead.

People from here did purchase. Forget him being a fraud, at the time I questioned the legality of this "raffle" and figured it would never happen.

I am so glad we didn't enter! We talked about it back when it was going on. But it didn't feel right. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
