Relocating
Sorry so long-So we are contemplating relocating to Charlotte and just want some thoughts. DH would have the option to go to his companies office here for the same salary (so it seems like a no brainer). We have no kids yet but are planning within the next two years. We own a condo here but just feel like even if we do sell and buy a house here we will not be able to live comfortably and go on vacations a lot, etc when we have kids. To be honest a big issue is that charlotte is not near the beach at all and we love the beach in the summer and go every weekend here.
What are thoughts? how is the economy in charlotte? Advice from those who moved from LI to Charlotte would be great!
TIA

Re: Relocating
I do not live in Charlotte but have a lot of family that does. They all relocated from NY, and love it in Charlotte. I know that the house prices in Charlotte are pretty reasonable. You can get a very nice house for less money than on LI. My family mainly lives in the south Charlotte area. My niece lives in Stallings and I have a cousin in Waxhaw. You are not near a beach, but if you like boating there is Lake Norman and Lake Wylie. It is a few hour drive to the coast of NC for the beaches. Good luck with your decision.

Re: Relocating
Do you know anyone there? Will you have any family/friends? How important is that to you?
We moved from LI to Florida and had DH's entire family here and one of my best friends too. We do like it here, but now that we have DD it's so hard being away from my family. We both miss NY... nowhere else will ever feel like "home" to us the way NY does. But if you don't experience it for yourself you'll never know... I think we would have regretted not moving down and always would have wondered what it would have been like. I'm glad we did it and we do have it really good down here but just kinda waiting to move back, someday.
