Re: Registry Question??
Try reading the Baby Bargains book. It will give you a lot of ratings for everything. If you register at Buy Buy Baby you can make an appointment with a sales associate that walk around with you to pick stuff out.

Registry Question??
Baby Bargains was super helpful. Some things, I just went with what I liked, like the PNP and high chair, others I researched a lot, like the stroller/infant seat (or rather, DH did). We didn't do fancy furniture, so we just picked what we liked. Just be prepared for MILLIONS of different opinions, so go with your gut most of the time

Re: Registry Question??
I never bought the book. I went to BRU about 2 weeks prior to registering just to see what they had and to play around with everything. Then I went online to check reviews. It was a bit overwhelming but I did a little at a time.

Re: Registry Question??
I second baby bargains for reviews and checklist. I also know that BRU and most likely BBB has a checklist.

Registry Question??
baby bargains book helped me tremendously. helped narrow down the myriad of choices out there according to what was important to me. cost, safety, quality. for instances, i got the most basic of infant carriers, but splurged on the high chair because of how much use i would get out of it.
love that book.

This. My dd is 12 weeks if you want to fm me for advice. In the beginning you need a great infant car seat with a snap and go. You can also do the attachment for s full size stroller but that stroller is a lot heavier to get in and out of the trunk so snap and go is a breeze!
Swing is great for naps Playmat for tummy time and play Baby carrier even to wear arou d the house when baby just wants to be he,d and you can still get stuff done

Re: Registry Question??
I read Baby Bargains, and then I went to the store and looked at the big stuff like strollers, car seats, PNP, etc, because you really need to physically try them out to know which will work best for you.
The rest I did online, a little at a time.
Although, I did have a friend with a very young toddler meet me at BRU one night and walk me through what I might need, what she found helpful and what she felt was a waste of money - which was a huge help for me.

Registry Question??
it is totally overwhelming!! But its not as bad as you think.
What I did was first was make a list (you can find registry checklists online) and then ask my friends/family with babies what they used and what they liked/didn't like, what they found useful/a waste, etc. And I looked on here too.
Then I went to go register and took my sister with me since she is an experienced mama. Went through the checklist to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything, found the items my friends told me they liked, tested items out in the store to see what I felt would work for me, and over-registered for EVERYTHING so that I could go online and weed through later that night.
THEN when I was going through the stuff online I would read reviews of things I picked out, watch youtube videos of product demos and reviews (this was a HUGE help to be able to see things in action) Changed out a LOT of my stuff... went back to the store to try new stuff after reading reviews, this time with my husband so I could explain stuff to him now that I felt more knowledgeable on the products, double-checked the checklist of stuff and made him play with the items to see what he liked too.
After that I just constantly checked online to make sure none of my big items were being discontinued.
Just take it one step at a time. Make lists, ask opinions, and do your research!!
