registry question......

Chat Icon not sure what I should do!

I had a decent, but not large, registry going.... one at amazon and one at BRU. They were properly organized with a few high $$ items for the relatives, and a lot of mid- and low-priced items for friends. The shower mom is planning will only have about 11 people or so... so it SHOULDN'T be a huge registry, ya know?

At any rate, my co-workers are throwing me a shower too! and everyone is being SUPER generous Chat Icon There have been only a handful of purchases and almost all of my big ticket items are gone.... actually, both registries are almost cleared out!

Problem is that I know for a fact (becuase I'm a registry peeker Chat Icon) that a good portion of my mother's guests haven't purchased anything yet... and my registries are almost BARE!

I'm not sure what to do. I was thinking about tacking on a few BRU items (maybe toys? possibly other stuff?) to supplement the registry over there for the last minute shoppers. (I figure after this weekend, no more amazon orders would be placed....)

do you think that's a good idea? or uneccessary?

(I'm truly floored by everyone's generosity.... speechless, really!)

Re: registry question......

I would add a few more things, just in case, otherwise you will just wind up with a ton of clothes.

Add more basics -- you can always use more bottles, blankets, onsies, etc... How lucky for you that everyone is being so generous!!! Chat Icon

Re: registry question......

Add more things for sure!! There's gotta be some things that you left out that you may have thought twice about. I know space is an issue but can you think of anything that wouldn't clog up the apartment and will be totally usable? Gifts are so much more enjoyable for people to buy than a gift card. Chat Icon

Re: registry question......

thanks everyone for your input!

yeah, I've been spending the evening trying to find extra stuff to add to the registry... I only managed to add a few receiving blankets, footie PJs, and a winter fleese footie outfit for travel.

I've been training myself for years to go with less (to save space), I"m not accustomed to look for MORE.

I had the great idea of adding a pack of my diapers to the registry (just to give the hintChat Icon ) I think that's the most practical gift!

Re: registry question......

I would definitely add more. You can add toys, DVDs and maybe some other "big ticket" items you were planning to purchase yourself in the future. Worst case, no one gets them.

I know I had to evaluate my registry tonight to see if I needed to add/remove anything. It never hurts to add.

Re: registry question......

we already have infant and larger carseats and a playard.... As for an additional stroller, we have our one el deluxo all terrain stroller, and that's all we can store, unfortunately.

interestingly enough, the playard is the one big ticket item that has NOT been purchased.... (other than the breast pump Chat Icon )

Re: registry question......

If you can, go to BRU and add some stuff. There is alot more in the stores than online...plus what you add could only be available online.

ITA. I totally could have used more blankets, burp cloths, bottles, next stage nipples, etc. I would even add diapers in various sizes so that you are prepared.
