Registry Help
This first time mom and old bat needs some serious help here.
My head is starting to hurt trying to figure out what should go on here.
Here are some examples why
If i get that carriage that is a newborn car seat and stroller should I register for that car seat that is good for infants-toddler? Or should I just get everything seperate. Hope this makes sense
I would like a pack and play for the living room but so many of them come with a changing pad and some vibrating thing. If I get that is adding a swing ok? Or if I get the pack and play without the vibrating thing just the changing pad is it ok to register for the other things seperate?
Oh and I plan on breast feeding. So I'm clueless what to get for that. My insurance doesnt cover it.
Pleaseeeeeeeeee share your registry with me. If you don't want to post it on here feel free to fm me. I really need to get the ball moving here.
TIA

Re: Registry Help
I think you should register for everything and it might be a pain in the ass to return stuff but at least you can get credit and use it for things you really need. You have to remember that not everything will be bought on your registry and giving people variety will help them from straying from your list.

Re: Registry Help
Well, I am a first time mom, so I may not know what I am talking about but regarding breast feeding...
you will want a boppy pillow (everyone has recommended this to me) I also registered for the boppy protective cover (which i think is the water/milkproof layer) and the boppy pillow cover (which is like the decorative fabric layer)
you will also need the breast pump you (might, not necessary) want a cleaning kit for your pump. I have a medela pump so I registered for these medela cleaning wipes.
You will want to register for some bottles and some storage bags or containers for the milk you do pump.
You will want nipple cream, and disposable nipple pads (they go in your bra and not only are supposed to help chafing and discomfort but mainly so you dont leak through all of your clothes)
I THINK that covers breastfeeding but like I said, I am also an august first timer... but I did do a lot of research and talking to friends with kids.

Re: Registry Help
make sure you put a lot of diapers and wipes on your registry you will need it sizes 1-4 it seems like a sucky gift but after having 1 its the best gift you can ever get. Next bottles I used the platex drop ins I was a nursing mom and plan on being 1 again so this helped with feedings a lot better for me at least, for a stroller the infant seat is good for the 1st couple of months I used it with a snap and go more then I ever used the stroller car seat combo. the convertible carseat I started using with dd was around 8 months she became to long for the infant car seat. for burp clothes instead of regular burp clothes I put the baby plain white cloth diapers it absorbs more. try not to put too much or no clothes at all if anything just onesies you will get plenty of clothes. A swing or bouncer whatever you prefer or both. I love my jumperoo when she got older she still plays with it at 22 months. you can put your bedding on your registry, and furniture if you like if you feel someone will buy it.

Re: Registry Help
Buy Baby Bargains book. This was my bible when I registered! Im a first time mom to be and this is all new to me also, but that thing helped me narrow everything down to the best items possible based on safety and what real life moms say and not just because something looks pretty... LOL
Also look at the registry check lists provided by BBB and BRU, it helps you make sure youve got everything...
I didnt personally register for clothes as they tell you styles constantly change in the store and they probably wont have it in by the time people go to buy stuff... Also people are going to buy you clothes anyway, keep the registry to the stuff you really need (ie breast pump, accessories, pack and play, etc...
Yes if you get pack and play, ABSOLUTELY register for swing and bouncy seat and alll the other fun activity stuff...
I say register for everything! If its not bought you can use completion coupons, plus you never know who willl buy you stuff and how much of it will get bought...
As far as stroller/car seat is concerned, thats a very personalized decision because you have to base it on your personal needs. Do you want something light weight? Do you want a snap and go? Do you have to carry it up a lot of stairs? Do you have to keep a budget in mind? Do you want to grow with child? Do you plan to have more children in the near future where you might need to add a seat and want a stroller that offers a 2 seat option?
READ BABY BARGAINS! I cannot recommend it enough!!!!

Re: Registry Help
I just put together a HUGE doc (it took me 4+ hours) for a friend with everyone I suggested (except for car seats and strollers because it's SO personal a decision) -- FM me your email addy if you want me to send it to you. It has links to all the stuff on amazon too.
