Registry drama with DH
He is being such a pain in the butt about it. We CAN't register for the Rock Star Stroller because it's too expensive and "ridiculous". We can't register at BBB and BRU because it's "unnecessary".
Ummmmmm, where the hell do you expect us to register, the dollar store?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?
He had me so mad I didn't speak to him for a while.
Anyone else's DH like this? To him, EVERYTHING is ridiculous, overpriced and not essential.
I guess we should just live like cavemen.....

Re: Registry drama with DH
Nope my DH just goes with the flow. Or else he will hear my mouth.
Why doesnt he want to register at BRU its not like your buying the stuff anyway?
You can start the registry online. He doesnt have to have a say. You are the mom not him.

Re: Registry drama with DH
actually my DH was the opposite & I was the one who wanted to only register at BBB & only for reasonably priced items.
I am SOOOOOO glad he talked me out of it!

Re: Registry drama with DH
It's not like you are buying it
If nobody gets it for you later from your registry, then I can understand that he wants to be frugal if you have to buy it.

Re: Registry drama with DH
Gina Where does he want you to register? Those are the main places!!! Does he realize you also need to buy diapers from there? dont tell me he wants you to use cloth!!
Also, you should be able to register for the Rock Stroller--I never thought people would buy me the big tkt items (Bugaboo, breast pump, complete bedding)--BUT THEY DO!!!
I will go with u if u want--I did most of it on my own anyway (chris didnt care)

Re: Registry drama with DH
How did he even get involved? What does he know???
Dh let me do whatever...he doesn't care. The only thing he said was "We dont need an $800 stroller!" (the bugaboo) but I put it on anyway b/c we have a ton of family that is just itching to buy us stuff! He doesn't know yet

Re: Registry drama with DH
if he wants to register at target- show him the return policy and tell him no registry is perfect - everyone gets doubles and you could get stuck with doubles of things and not being able to return for what you need

Re: Registry drama with DH
I asked DH to help me so I asked for his opinion. He's good with logistics when it comes to strollers and stuff. We had fun testing them together. We both agreed not to even try the bugaboo, just too much. It came down to two strollers and I picked which one I liked.
As for the rest of the stuff, I got some input from him, but mostly just picked it out by myself. He doesn't really care.
We also registered at both BBB and BRU...I don't know why you wouldn't. Gives folks a choice, some items are at one store and not the other, its not a bad things to register at two stores, people live all over and this gives them a better chance at finding a location if buying off the net is not their thing.
Overall, I'd tell you DH just to chill out.

Re: Registry drama with DH
My DH goes with the flow, he knows I've done a ton of research and appreciates it so let's me do a lot of the choosing.
I had him pick the stroller - of a group I'm comfortable with, he is 6'4" so I wanted it to be comfortable for him. I also make sure he has input on the big things.
I requested that he read Baby Bargains which he read some of. I told him he couldn't argue against a product I really wanted (or didn't want) unless he read it.
If I were you I'd point out what a resource BRU or BBB can be for you. They have seminars in the stores, Give you a great kit we you sign up to register with lots of info, and checklists. The websites have reviews from tons of BTDT Mom's which can really help.

Re: Registry drama with DH
I told DH he was in charge of the baby monitor, and the car seat/travel system.
I picked out everything else.
I also wound up getting the monitor on ebay for a lot less than at BRU but that's cuz we didn't get it at the shower...
