So people keep telling me to register for DS 1st birthday. But I thought you only registered for baby showers. Your help and opinions would be really appreciated Thanks all!!!!!!

Re: Registering for 1st birthday
You can definitely register for a birthday. I think if people are asking then they want to make sure they are getting toys and items that you want/approve of.

Re: Registering for 1st birthday
I didnt....only because I thought it was being greedy/tacky. I personally think a baby and bridal shower is enough.

Re: Registering for 1st birthday
OMG I've never heard of such a thing!
IMO.. it's a bit tacky
Showers I understand, but for b-days, not so much.

I agree, that's too much for me, my family would kill me if I did this.....

I agree!
I would never dream of having any reference to a birthday registry in an invite either. If some people are wondering what to get then give a few ideas.
I know I would think it was tacky if I saw that for any bday

Re: Registering for 1st birthday
I find it tacky, I say let people buy what ever they want, and hopefully they will give you a gift receipt in case you need to exchange it for something else.

Re: Registering for 1st birthday
Thanks everyone for your feedback. I thought it was incredibly tacky. But atleast 12 of the 25 people coming to the party were asking about a registry. I've made a few phone calls and told them if we get duplicates it's okay. We will just be thankful that his family was there.
