yeah... i think they are all pretty similar, they should all be more energy efficient than an older one. i think the other thing besides the water/ice is the size, too- cubic feet.
One thing to look into-- we just got a new fridge. and we got the "fake stainless". Whirlpool calls it Satina, but i think all the other brands make it, too. its SOO nice to have on a fridge because it doesn't show fingerprints/smudges ( which is nice because the fridge gets opened a lot!) AND you can also hang magnets on it ( you can't with regular stainless). We love it so far... and it looks perfectly fine next to our other "real" stainless appliances...

you're welcome!! in our old house we had real stainless, and i was so mad that i couldn't stick magets to it!! love putting wedding invitations or pictures or whatever up there. luckily the way it was set up there, i could hang them on the side of teh fridge and still see them.. but still!!
so i really liked the stainless look this time because of that, and definitely because of less smudges and fingerprints! especially since we plan on having kids somewhere down the road.. i want to be able to hang up their artwork on the fridge, and not have to clean up their fingerprints on it constantly. have fun shopping!!

We got the same type of fridge....the Kitchenaid Architect II series...it is GREAT!!!!!

They are pretty much the same...just be sure to check out the depth of the fridges you look at...some aren't as deep as others and that can be an issue based on the space you have and/or the space you need.

Re: Refridgerator help! general question..

other than asthetics:

word of advice... don't get a side by side refrigerator freezer.... mom has one, and when she has parties, the wide trays don't fit in her refrigerator Chat Icon

I hear from a lot of people that the best refrigerators have the freezer on the bottom.... I saw on TV a new one that has TWO freezer drawers, so you can better organize your stuff!
