Reflux?

So, I'm think DD might have reflux. She was diagnosed with a milk allergy on Monday and we switched to Nutramigen. (She's 3 weeks old). We have seen a difference in her symptoms and she doesn't seem to be in as much pain. However, we are seeing some new symptoms- more spitting up, sometimes looks like something is coming back up and she swallows it back down with a weird face, makes a sounds frequently like she's trying to clear her throat and is just much more "wiggly"- like she can't get comfortable. I'm going to call the ped, but do these symptoms sound like what your child with reflux had?

Re: Reflux?

Yes..Dd did the same things. They actually out her on Zantac. Sometimes if think it would make it worse. Most times we would just not move her around to much after her bottle. But she was always a bit of a spit upper.

Re: Reflux?

Yes sounds like reflux. DS does the same things, Also does she stiffen her body & arch her back? Mine does this all the time & the dr. told me that's a sign too. Mine is on Zantac, but I'm not sure if it's working either... he's on a decent dose but still must be in pain because he still cries/screams all day long. Unless he's got other issues that are bothering him.

Re: Reflux?

Yes, it sounds like reflux. My daughter was on Axid, and then Prevacid, which worked better. We were finally able to ween her off at about a year, and she outgrew her milk protein allergy at 15 months .

DD has a milk allergy as well. We switched the formula, but I think there is more going on.
