Red light cameras - shortened yellow lights?
Recently DH and I have noticed that yellow lights don't seem to be yellow for as long anymore, and we think those intersections are at intersections with red light cameras? Does anyone else get the same feeling?

I think so too, I notice it more when I go to LI to my dr. I thought I was imagining things , glad someone else noticed it too

Yes! I had this discussion with DH, who was a cop and he said that it's a scam and most of them do have shortened yellow lights to catch cars go through the red but noone will admit it. If you time it, there is definitely a difference.

Seem the same to me. However, it should be noted that yellow light times run in accordance to what the speed limit is. So that the duration of a yellow light is less in a 30 mph zone then in a 55 mph zone.

Yes, I heard this from another cop as well. Plus, some white lines have also been moved back further so if you roll over it, it sets the sensors off.

It's Such BS too! Shorter yellows also cause more accidents from ppl slamming on brakes!
