Recycling Bin
Sanitation took our recycling bin this morning. We have no idea why they took it.
Where do I have to go to get another bin?

I would call the Town of Hempstead, that's your town correct? I know the Town of Oyster Bay provides them. Out here in Town of Huntington we just get a sticker and have to provide our own can.

Could it be outside a neighbor's house? We have our address on ours and one morning it disappeared and as I was driving to work the next week I found it outside a house at the end of the block.

Did they take it or did a neighbor steal it? Sometimes people take them, so they have an extra one.
Call the Town - they provide them and they employ the recycling truck drivers.

i agree, call the town. we get the stickers for free but have to pay for the bins.

Was is broken at all? I know they took my moms a few years back because it had holes in the bottom, they just took it and didn't replace it. I think she called about getting a new one but they wanted her to pay for it. This was YEARS ago, so I don't know if its the same. My mom just uses a crate now, works just as good!!

Plain old milk crate. Or you could get one of those rubbermaid totes, or the cheaper version. I think they are like $3 at kmart.

Someone took mine a few weeks ago. I just called TOB and they brought a new one for me on the day of my next collection. I am sure town of Hemp is the same deal.

Update - My neighbor took it in yesterday, and didnt know it was mine - he gave it to his neighbor. SO I went over there and took it back.....
