Recurrent miscarriages
Hi--hope its ok that I post here. I am pretty sure I am going through my 3rd miscarriage.
A little background on me: 1/09--missed miscarriage at 11 1/2 weeks. I had seen a strong heartbeat twice before that.
12/09--gave birth to a healthy baby girl
6/11--chemical pregnancy--5 1/2 weeks
10/11--supposed to be 8 weeks but measuring small with a weak heartbeat, some spotting
I go back to the dr on Tuesday for another sonogram. If I have in fact had another miscarriage, which I am pretty sure is what is going to happen, the dr said he would send me to a specialist who would run tests.
Anyone else been through this? What kind of tests do they run? Did your insurance cover it? Any success stories?
Thank you all so so much!

Re: Recurrent miscarriages
I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I see Dr. Braverman, and have been through the whole gamut of tests. He would look for immunological issues, blood clotting issues, genetic issues, etc. In my case, I have a combination of things, but the most pressing one is a chromosomal translocation that is resulting in pregnancies that end up not being viable pretty early on.
My insurance covered most of the testing, but I had to pay a lot for the immunological panel through Reprosource, as GHI only pays for a small portion of it.
As far as whether or not I'm a success story, that's still up in the air...waiting for results of my 4th beta today, as it didn't double appropriately from #2 to #3.

Re: Recurrent miscarriages
im so so sorry... i also see Dr. Braverman. I had an ectopic, and 2 m/cs in less than a year... he found out that Shaun and I have too many HLA matches, i also have super high Natural Killer cells, and Hypothyroidism which, may or may not contribute to my m/s...
i will have to take lovenox and neupogen (or prednisone) from Ovulation... we wont be starting again until November though because i have to see a different Dr about my thyroid first.

Re: Recurrent miscarriages
Thank you all for you responses. I go back to my dr on Tuesday and will see who he recommends but I am definitely considering contacting Dr Braverman since you all seem to think he will be able to help me.
Thanks again!
