Recommendations for a pediatrician
Can u guys recommend a good pediatrician? Very friendly with bfeeding and also ok with giving vaccines one at a time. Not happy with the one we're seeing now. At this point I don't mind driving a bit to go see them.

Re: Recommendations for a pediatrician
At this point I don't mind driving. We're in Wading River but will be moving next year, mid Nassau and Suffolk. I'm tired of the one we see now, every time I tell him I want a vaccine at a time and wait at least 6 weeks between, he looks at me like I have 10 heads! I just came back from seeing him, he asked me why I don't wanna give them together and while I was explaining he just said ok and left!!

Re: Recommendations for a pediatrician
I love my ped. BUT I did not breastfeed so I don't know how he is with that but I can say he never made me feel bad one bit that I didn't breastfeed he didn't even question it like most at the hospital did.
Also I don't know about vaccines either but his policy is he doesnt like to give more than 2 at one time you can always call and see what he says about doing only one at a time.
I see Dr Grillo in Levittown.

Re: Recommendations for a pediatrician
Oh ok, so I'll put the two recs and hopefully the locations work out for you.
The first one is the pediatric group my boyfriend's children go to. He is thrilled with them. He has two boys, six and eleven, and they have been going to them since day one. His now ex-wife breastfed and they were very good about that and he chose to space out the vaccines as much as possible and they were wonderful about that too. So, he highly recommends them. Husband and wife doc team.
They have locations in Port Jeff Station and Wading River...
Kids First Peds
For me, they were a little far from where I live so I do not go to his place... I went in search of a great ped and from LIF recs on here I found Lake Grove Pediatrics -- Dr. Amy Goldberg. I am SO pleased with her and the office!!! Love her! She is wonderful about spacing the vaccines and I know she is very supportive about BF -- but I did not personally BF, ever, so I don't know that from personal experience but I know she told me that and others have told me that she is great about it. So, hopefully those recs help!!

That is so odd!!
Is it the husband??
Because my boyfriend has pretty much always seen the wife.
Maybe she is more understanding and accepting than he is??
You know, it is odd. The very first ped office I started at -- which I did not like -- it was a father and son. You would think they would feel the same about stuff, they are RELATED. But no! The father was all about spacing out vaccines and was more open minded to things and just so much more pleasant.... THE SON -- omg he acted like you were an ALIEN with every question you asked.... OR he acted like DUH how do you not know this???
It was so odd how two people who are related (and in your case, married) could be so different.
I wonder if that is the issue?
Have you ever seen the woman??
Otherwise -- just try Dr. Goldberg. I have to say, I adore her.
She was fantastic about the vaccines.

Recommendations for a pediatrician
I love peds first in Medford but I'm not sure they're talking new patients. They've never given me a problem with separating shots but I've only done it with certain ones.
I would try Peconic pediatrics too. I used them for a lactation consultation as have friends of mine and the ped and lcs were great.

Recommendations for a pediatrician
I take my DS to Central LI Peds. I can't help on the vaccination issues as we follow their schedule but I do know they have a sign up that says if you do split please note the appointment charge and clear with insurance. That leads me to believe they don't have an issue but want you to know it might be an added cost.

I take my son to him too! He was my pediatrician when I was little as well. I love him. The nurses made me feel like crap for not breastfeeding and he made me feel soooo much better!

Recommendations for a pediatrician
My ped fits your criteria but I think she's too far from you, I'm in Queens. Dr. Theodora Pantelglou - she's located in Bayside. When I first brought DS home and was having issues nursing him the first night she had me nurse him in the room to see what I was doing wrong. I was a FTM and really appreciated her concern and assistance. She then referred me to Dr. Lauren Macaluso if I continued to have any issues nursing. She is also great about spreading out vaccines. We too only do 1 at a time but as per her suggestion we see her every 4 weeks - I sometimes will book her 5 weeks out if any days on the 4th week won't work for me. I am sure she would be willing to stretch it out every 6 weeks for you. My SIL who lives in Old Bethpage still uses her even after she left Queens and she doesn't vaccinate her kids at all - so I'm pretty sure she can work w/ you. Hope you find someone closer!
