Re: recommend your vaccuum

I had a very good cannister by Kenmore. But I hated lugging the canister around.

I have the Dyson Ball. It moves easily, isn't too heavy, and really sucks up the hair from my two cats! I didn't see a big difference from the dyson to the dyson animal and I got mine on sale at macys.

I thought a cannister would be a better choice for a spilt and with wood floors since I mainly will be using the attachments I thought.....??? but maybe not?? I own like a stick vaccuum now and do a lot of sweeping, but the broom drives my dog nuts

Re: recommend your vaccuum

I have two Eureka BOSS series vacuums. They are rated as much better than any Dyson, and less than half the price.

I have the bissell healthy home. It has a HEPA filter attached to it - we have a kitty and it is great with hair and dust.

I have almost all hardwood floors and it works great. I love the long cord, I can do my whole 1,000 sq ft apartment without unplugging.

Re: recommend your vaccuum

Thank you for posting this question!

I have an electrolux with canister. It has lots of great attachments, but I HATE lugging it up and down the stairs, and I always find that I am banging the walls and cabinets with the canister.

I was looking for an upright (?) kind of vacuum - I am definitely going to check out the recommendations above ladies. I have a cat and I personally shed a lot, so I will definitely look into your recs!

I have an Oreck - it's the best vacuum I've ever owned - carpet or hardwood floors. It's also light & easy to carry up & down stairs.

I have an old miele and it's great. I just got a Miele upright with a hepa filter for my daughter to use in her apartment because it's smaller than a canister vacuum and storage is tight. She's very happy with it.
