Recommend your high-traffic area carpet
We want to get new carpeting in the family room of our new house. I want something that wears well with on the way, and since it will be a high-traffic room.
Any recommendations? Is berber the best for high-traffic? We looked in person, and DH likes the look of non-berber, but I feel like I want to go with something that won't get flattened out...
Also, any pics of rooms with berber?

Re: Recommend your high-traffic area carpet
We had berber in most of the house. I hated it. Yes, it lasts a long time, but it's rough on little knees (and adult knees). If DC is going to be crawling and playing on the floor, you really want to get a low pile carpet, IMO.
We went with Mohawk's SmartStrand carpet. It's corn-based, so there are much less poisonous chemicals off-gassing then standard carpet. It is also naturally stain-resistant. You don't need extra chemicals added (like ScotchGuard) to keep it clean. It's very soft, too.
