Recommend your diaper bag
I have the jj cole mode bag. I loved it, but never really found it big enough. Now, I'm at the point of wanting to hurl it out the window b/c it's just too small. And I'm a fairly light packer! A big problem is that the outer pockets are not gusseted, so if you put anything in them, it presses INTO the bag, taking up space. Anyways, these are my requirements:
-roomy -pockets for organization -cross body shoulder strap (a MUST) -lightweight
Thank you in advance!

I have the okiedog urban (okiedog.com) The urban isn't a cross body but they have messenger style bags.

I have the Marc by Marc Jacobs nylon one with letters on outside (can't remember model name). It fits all your requirements and best of all DH likes it/will use it too.
My fav part is how light it is. I can fill it with so much and it still stays pretty late.

I have a skip hop double (twins) and I think it's waaaay too big. It has the gusseted pockets you're looking for, and so much room on the inside plus a wide base. It may be just what you're looking for.

It's the Eliz-a-Baby. I have it and absolutely love it! I love the fact that it doesn't look like a diaper bag, yet it has tons of pockets to hold everything.

JuJuBe BFF! Got this bag when I was expecting #2. Very roomy, lots of pockets, can be worn as a backpack (which I love!) or messenger style and is machine washable. Love my bag!

I too have this bag. It's perfect and I love it. So worth every penny. So easy to keep clean too.
I also knew a few girls whose kids are grown (as in no longer in diapers) and continue to use the bag, particularly as an overnight bag.
