recommend your awesome iron
in our apt we have an iron from the stone ages that works GREAT. I can't find it anymore, so if you can recommend your iron I would appreciate it.
it doesn't have to be fancy...but nothing too light. the light ones feel flimsy to me for some reason. also, not too expensive.
bueno y barato work best for me

Rowenta. Not cheap but the best in my opinion. Especially if you need lost of steam for cottons.

Re: recommend your awesome iron
Does anyone here solely use a steam iron instead of a traditional iron?
Any recommendations?

I have a Rowenta with a retractable cord - that's the only reason I bought it. It's substantial weight-wise because of that feature.
Rowenta Effective-something is the name.

Seriously I've used mine twice in two years
I have the Oreck Cordless Steam Iron. I really like that its cordless but would rather a plain iron.

This is what I use:
Not too light.... but no spray/steam feature....
Oh, and you need a firepit in the basement to heat it up.....

Re: recommend your awesome iron
I have the Rowenta Professional DX8800. I bought it at BB&B this past summer. $99.99
I love it.
The ONLY downside is that it's 1700 watts, and I have to be careful where I use it because sometimes I blow a fuse. But I have no complaints at all, and I iron every day for both me and my DH.

Re: recommend your awesome iron
We got a garment steamer (Rowenta, about $150) ... and now DH will even steam his clothes on his own in the morning before leaving for work. It only takes about 5 minutes!
