Rec your moving company!
DH & I will be moving towards the end of this month. We are thinking about hiring a moving company. Can you guys recommend a moving company that you've used and an estimate of how much they charge and what you get for it? (If you want to FM me prices, feel free to do so!) I'm thinking we can move all the boxes ourselves and I really would want a moving company for our big items which include a tv, 2 couches, 2 chairs, vanity, king bed, cedar trunk, kitchen table, fridge, china cabinet, hutch, curio cabinet, and patio furniture.

We moved 2 months ago and used Men on the Move. They charged us $900 for about 5 hours.
We were considering moving boxes ourselves but they charge by the hour, not by the amount of stuff so it really depends HOW many boxes you have and how long you think it'll take to move.
We were quoted for 5 1/2 hours but they only charged us what we used. We also moved on a Sunday (Fathers Day) and weren't charged anything extra.
We also got quotes from Agile moving and Ken's moving and storage. All quotes were comparable. My dad used to be VP at Mayflower and always recommended Men on the Move for people making smaller moves who didn't want to use a unionized company.

i used LOV a few moths ago. they are located in freeport. they only had to move from storage to my house, about 5 minutes away. it was a 10x10 unit.
it was about $400 for four hours.
they guys were great! they came as a rec from my tenants actually.
