Really nervous
Hi all!
I just found out last weekend that I am pregnant with our second.. I am very early on... But I have had a miscarriage and we had traumatizing experiences during my first pregnancy.i have decided to.switch practices due to the incompetence of two of the doctors, but I loved the midwives there....
It was a really hard decision but I am suffering from really bad anxiety, anyone have any tips on how to try and stay calm??
PS, I am very excited, just feel like the nervous and anxious feelings are preventing me from being super excited :(
Tia!!!

Re: Really nervous
I have no advice on how to stay calm because I'm a very nervous person by nature. Maybe to try to take some deep breaths and think positive thoughts? Just wanted to say congratulations to you and good luck w/your new doctors.

Re: Really nervous
I think a good way to reduce anxiety is to have very good care/doctors.
I have Drs. Pillitteri (Deer Park) and Kofinas (Garden City - for high risk) and had some moments in the beginning that made me nervous. I had never been to either one of them before I got pregnant - they were recommendations from these boards. Dr. Pillitteri believes in patients coming in ASAP - as opposed to other doctors who make you wait until your 8th week. He believes the beginning is the most important time so he wants to see moms-to-be asap. Dr. Pillitteri was so reassuring that everyhing was going to be alright - and I thank God for him that he started me right away on extra folic acid and baby aspirin, which proved to be important since I had the thrombophilia gene. Dr. Kofinas was an absolute God send. LOVE both of them.
So, Congratulations on your pregnancy! Try to relax and enjoy and take care of yourself... and try to get to see a doc asap.
