Really gross, maybe TMI
Hi, My dog has a really bad smell coming from her rear--it has been like this on and off for a while--but its gross--She is clean in that area--any experience with this?? could it be her diet??? Sorry for TMI!!!!

Yet another symptom of a dog needing his or her anal glands expressed, probably. For the first time it is happening, ask your vet. We have our groomer take care of it now, but I was more comfortable with our vet confirming what it was when it first started to happen. Now I know the signs in my dog. It is a very simple thing to take care of and there is a chance of infection if you don't take care of it. If I can be graphic, the smell is sometimes fishy when they need it done.

Its not really fishy but almost smells like metal--thats the only way I can explain it--I will take her to the vet!!! Thanks!!!
