Re: really dumb dishwasher question?

We have but we tend to let it run while we are sleeping. But if you leave for work and want to turn it on, I wouldn't see why not!

Re: really dumb dishwasher question?

I have left it running while I'm out... I don't think there is a rule as to when you can run it. I have heard, however, that it is more energy efficient to run it at night, so i do my best to not run it during the day!

Re: really dumb dishwasher question?

Electric rates are cheaper at night. We run ours whenever is convenient, but you run the risk of a hose bursting. Then again, just having hoses in your house has a risk of bursting. It really comes down to how comfortable you are with having it running when you aren't home. We haven't had any water problems in all the years we've had ours. Other people have had hoses burst and leak.

I usually run mine while I'm sleeping at night.
