really dumb dishwasher question?
Please note that this is my first EVER dishwasher.. can you believe it
anyways.. can you leave it running when you are not home? is that a no-no ? or is okay?

We have but we tend to let it run while we are sleeping. But if you leave for work and want to turn it on, I wouldn't see why not!

I have left it running while I'm out... I don't think there is a rule as to when you can run it. I have heard, however, that it is more energy efficient to run it at night, so i do my best to not run it during the day!

Electric rates are cheaper at night. We run ours whenever is convenient, but you run the risk of a hose bursting. Then again, just having hoses in your house has a risk of bursting. It really comes down to how comfortable you are with having it running when you aren't home. We haven't had any water problems in all the years we've had ours. Other people have had hoses burst and leak.
