Real Estate Question:

We listed our house for sale. After a few months, we decided to take it off the market. We no longer wish to move, and plan on staying in our current home and renovating.

We signed a 6 month contract. When I looked online, to see is our listing was removed, the end date is 1 year, not 6 months.

List date: 7/1//16

Withdraw/rel date: 9/1/16

Exp date: 7/1/17

Commission obligation date:: 1/1/17

Realist obliged date: 7/1/17

We signed a 6 month contract. I understand if we ever sold our house up until the end of that 6 months, then we owe realtor commission. Why do we have a 1 year re list obligation? It was not stated on contract.

We do not plan on selling ourselves or re listing.

I called the office, and secretary said, you are correct. We will get back to you. No call back

I am confused too - I mean, you have no obligation to relist the house at all, I wonder if this their shady way of saying if you choose to relist at any point up to 7/17 that you have to use that realtor? Is that what you meant?

Re: Real Estate Question:

Sounds like it was just a typo on the listing. All that matters is what is on the contract that you signed, so if your contract says 6 months there's nothing to worry about.
