RE recs & ins.
After a very frustrating cycle with my obgyn (who I love) I think I am ready to move to an RE. The problem is, my insurance doesn't cover it and I'm afraid of the out of pocket costs. So, does anyone have a recommendation (preferably one that is covered) and the type of insurance you have.
I took provera, got my period, took clomid cd 5-9 and was told to come back in when I ovulated (using opks) to confirm ovulation. Problems -- I don't know how I responded to the meds & I don't respond to opks.
So I called the obgyn to ask about monitoring -- the secretary said "come in 3 days after finishing clomid" (which was 7 days ago..) and "use your basal temperature to determine ovulation" (which I've heard doesn't work with clomid). I'm beyond frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She wasn't even trying to answer my questions and there was silence on the phone.

Re: RE recs & ins.
I have GHI and I go to NSUH...I used to have HIP and I went to RSofNY...with any fertility drug you should be monitored properly with at least sono's and blood if your RE finds it necessary...I find that GYN's tend to give clomid out like candy...my first gyn said to take it for 3 months and if it didnt work then come back...they shouldnt do that at all since they have to see if its even working and for me it caused a thin uterine lining...
What insurance do you have?

Re: RE recs & ins.
temping does work with clomid. its OPKs and trigger shots that mess up temping.
if you insurance doesn't cover RE's specifically you can try Dr. Braverman, i believe he's not technically an RE. however he doesn't accept insurance but if you have out of network benefits he accepts those.
