I honestly don't like any of them. I like the original spelling. The way I view it (stupid, but this is what it was like for me as my name was spelled differently), it's hard to be a child not be able to have things wtih your name on them.
ITA. Back in the 70's and 80's when it seemed no one had the name Gabrielle, or my nickname Gabi, I NEVER found anything with my name on it! And it did bother me growing up...actually my DH knows about how I felt like I missed out on 'personalized crap' growing up and now buys things for me when he sees them, esp. since my name is a lot more popular!!
I think Tyler is a cool name!! Go for it!!

I prefer the traditional spelling, it's a great name. I have a name that when I was growing up no one else had, and it's not the "usual" spelling, so everyone mispronounced it (it's spelled & said like Melissa without the M, so I'm not sure why everybody had such a hard time), between never having any personalized anything & having to say my name repeatedly for people, it wasn't fun.

I like it best the way you have it, none of the choices appeal to my eye.

Re: Poll on different spellings of Tyler
I don't like those spellings. I think it would confuse people, teachers, friends, etc. He'll always be asked how to pronounce his name. I like Tyler and how it sounds, which is what most people will know - the sound, not spelling. So just changing the spelling doesn't make it less common. I like it, common or not though!

Re: Poll on different spellings of Tyler
I like the original spelling like the others, my fear for a child with a name spelled differently is that they will have to go through their whole life spelling their name everytime someone has to write it down.

Re: Poll on different spellings of Tyler
I'm not liking any of the alternate spellings. I'm a teacher too & had a child named Keellee a few yrs ago & by the end of the year SHE personally changed the spelling (KELLY)b/c kids were mispronouncing it & she said she liked "Kelly" better (4th grade).

Re: Poll on different spellings of Tyler
Sorry Dawn, I have to agree with all the others in that the only spelling I like is "Tyler".
DH and I don't know the sex yet but we've been having a real hard time with boys names too.
What about reversing your DH's first and middle name? We thought about that as an option so it would be almost like a Jr. but not quite.

Re: Poll on different spellings of Tyler
I like Tyler, I am not a fan of the names spelled the way they are listed. It is hard to pick names, we are going through this too...I like Tyler too and DH likes Trevor but I doubt we will even have a boy.
