I hope he is ok and I'm glad you found him. These doctors are amazing. My grandmother had a valve replacement 15 years ago and her heart remained strong until she passes away many years later (non heart-related).

he has suffered a heart attack, and is in a hospital somewhere in Barbados - we're calling now trying to find him

update:
ok...we found him...(there are only 2 hospitals in Barbados, so it wasnt' that hard...)
thank GOD he's okay - dh spoke to him.....he indeed had a heart attack, but is stable. once he gets home (which should be within the next few days) - he MUST have surgery to correct a valve!
thank you ALL so much for your prayers!!
