Rash/Coxsackie question
Anyone have a DC who had coxsackie but had rash other places besides just hand/foot & mouth?
The PA at my peds office thought perhaps my DS could have coxsackie although his rash is on his belly/thighs. He has no fever, no sores in his mouth and no sores on his feet/hands. I have to bring him back in 2-3 days if he doesn't develop any other of the more classic coxsackie symptoms, but in the mean time I should keep him home, right? Even though he is not acting sick at all?

Re: Rash/Coxsackie question
I should add, she thought she saw a spot on his foot that might turn into the typical coxsackie rash thru the day today, but it didn't and I am not seeing anything on his feet now.

Re: Rash/Coxsackie question
It doesn't sound like cox sackie to me but I'm sure your PA knows better than me.
If cox sackie is going around, I'd keep him home so he doesn't infect others or get a secondary infection that he'll need to fight while fighting cox sackie.
It is highly contagious.
