Rant: Pharmacies
Anyone hate their pharmacy? Please share with me.
I have been waiting for 1 month to get a prescription. My pharmacy *cough Duane Reade cough* continues to tell me that they have yet to hear from my doctor after I have BEEN IN THE DOCTORS OFFICE WITH MY DOCTOR WHILE THEY WERE ON THE PHONE WITH DUANCE READE'S PHARMACY!!!!!!!!!
Somehow I'm not in their system...?
Now I've been on hold with them for 5 minutes. Literally.
How do I transfer a prescription..? And does any NYC'er know of a better pharmacy I can use???

A coworker of mine had that problem. He had to go there and rant and rave. He refused to leave until they fixed the problem and just never went back there.

over the years, I've gone to numerous pharmacies... pathmark, king kullen, now CVS... I've never had a problem with any of them....
I think you just found a bum pharmacy transfer anywhere else....

I would change to a different Duane Reade. I switched to a one a couple of blocks away from the one I was originally using and now I never have to wait for my scripts, they have them in stock.

Just don't go to CVS. We just found out that I've been on the wrong generic medication for two weeks because "they didn't have the other in stock". Niiiiice. Needless to say, I'm waiting for a call from corporate tomorrow. I've heard good things about Walgreens and Target.

I use CVS and they have caught issues my old DR hadn't caught and one reason I switched to a new DR. CVS pays attention to drug interactions.

I think it really depends on the individual pharmacy, not the chain as you can tell by the 2 different CVS stories. We have used CVS & Rite Aid in Westchester & not had a problem, but we don't use them often.
The pharmacist at Rite Aid even gave DH a coupon for an expensive drug.
I work in Manhattan & the Duane Reade I go to sucks in general, so I wouldn't use the pharmacy unless I had to.

I've always had good luck with cvs.
if you were at the doctors office why don't you just get him to write you a new perscrption and fill it some place else

Little did I know that when I got to the pharmacy I would be told that nothing was called in. 
But thats my plan. I'm calling tomorrow morning.
