Rainbow vacuum anyone?
Does anyone have this?
My DH is considering working for the company as a salesman. No, I'm not asking for anyone to volunteer for a demo I actually would prefer if he *didn't* take the job as I am not a fan of direct marketing of products or asking for referrals of friends to call and pressure them to host a demo.
He went on the interview because hes still a few hours shy of being able to get his home inspection license in NYS, and being in construction, he's not getting alot of jobs because of the cold weather. Plus his knees have begun to hurt alot, he's worried that if he stays in construction that the weather and constant up and down ladders will make them worse. Once his home inspection biz gets busier he'll concentrate on that but once he gets the license he will just do it on weekends. But we need the income of a 2nd job now. Hence this interview.
However I am doing internet searching to see just how great this vacuum is supposed to be. If anyone has it, please let me know by FM if you want. Thanks.

Re: Rainbow vacuum anyone?
My parents have it and we borrow it all the time! It is AMAZING!!! It gets out the dirt that you wouldn't even think was there. You can use it on everything: floors, carpets, drapes furniture, mattresses, as an air purifier. Everything looks brand new afterwards and when you see all the dirt that was hiding in your home in the water before you dump it you will be amazed and disgusted at the same itme.
One day we will get our own! Just as soon as we have an extra 2K laying around...
Actually, there was an episode of Everybody loves Raymond that was sort of build around Raymond buying that kind of vacuum. It was very funny...

I don't have one but I want one sooo badly. At the time we got the demo, we were redoing our bathroom and didn't think spending another 2k (or the show price of $1600!) on a vacuum was right at that moment. But after seeing the demo, they are awesome!

That is what I have read so far. That the sales pitch is a bit annoying and IMO the idea of giving out referrals is not cool, but that the vacuum is awesome.
I did read on eopinions.com (in the comments section under a post) that there's a way to earn your vacuum for free. I can ask DH if that is still true and how and let you know. We live in Putnam Co. so I don't think he'll be doing demos (if he takes the job) on LI but if he takes the job and you're still interested you can FM me.
Oh yeah I sorta half heard DH saying that about Ray Romano's show to me but I was mad at him for going on the interview (I don't think he should be spending all his time doing demos for comission when he's trying to start up antoehr business that I think in the long run will be better). I thnk he said Patricia Heaton got one in real life, loved it, referred Doris Roberts and Ray and they loved it and a writer got one and loved it and that's where the idea for the story came about. Funny huh?
