Rabie shots
How often are we supposed to be giving our dogs rabie shots?
Is it once a year? Tiny had his done in April 06.
We just found him with a bird in his mouth - yuk.....So we were wondering Thanks

Re: Rabie shots
Rabie shot are usually good for 2 or 3 years. I thought it was two but the last time we went to the vet she said it was good for 3.

Re: Rabie shots
i think the first two years you get it done 1x a year and then it becomes good once every 2-3 (i forgot) after that...
so Rocky got his at 2 months, 14 months, and now wont get it again till hes either 3 or 4 depending on how good the shot is for. I do believe only 2 years though. I need to double check

Re: Rabie shots
Ok. The woman we got Tiny from had them done the first year he was born, and then we had them done when we got him in 06. He is ok then....
Why would he try to eat a bird? I think he thinks he is a cat sometimes.
He cleans himself.....His paws and belly etc....and now he is taking birds in his mouth - It was gross

its something like that - the first two they get once a year, and then the second or the third is good for a few years....your vet will know. it may depend on the size/breed too.
