Quiet breastpump to use at the office?
My DS is 4 weeks old and I have another 5 weeks before heading back to work.
I currently use the Medela Advance In Style breastpump at home. I am planning on pumping at work when I return in a few weeks. At my workplace, I will have to pump in a handicapped one-person capacity bathroom which is located pretty close to cubicles and right by a popular hallway. I feel that the Medela pump is not exactly very quiet - and I think it sometimes sounds like a bed squeaking. I am paranoid about people hearing a funny sound everytime they walk by that bathroom.
I will not be able to use an office or a conference room for pumping.
Any one face a similar situation? How did you handle it? Does anyone have any recommendations for a quieter pump?
I appreciate any and all suggestions.
TIA!!!

Re: Quiet breastpump to use at the office?
I know what you mean, my PIS makes all sorts of weird noises. This may not be practical, but the Medela Symphony (you have to rent it) is much quieter, but heavier and doesn't come with carrying bag. It is small though! Sorry I'm not much of a help.

does your PIS come in a case? Mine is in the backpack, and I find if I zip it up almost all the way, you can't really hear anything.

The Ameda Purely yours was pretty quiet - that's what I used at home and occasionally at work. It was pretty light, although I'd hate the thought of you having to buy 2 pumps!!
I hope you can make the PIS work for that sake - Good luck!!

I agree with Karen. When I zip the front of my PIS Advanced, it's more quiet.
I've pumped in a bathroom and it seemed super loud to me, but my friend waiting for me outside the stall said she couldn't hear anything.....

Great idea, ladies, about zipping up the front of the backpack. I will definitely try that.
I would love to avoid having to get another pump.
Thanks!
Hope to hear more ideas from others.

Re: Quiet breastpump to use at the office?
I have the medela advanced and at home i thought it was loud, but now that i use at work , its really not that loud. I work in a radiology office, so i borrow one of the sono rooms that doesnt really get used, Its located in the waiting room, the receptionist that are close to the door, say they dont hear it.
