Quick/mini vacation destination-help
My DH and I need a break. We were thinking of takng a wed to Sun trip.
Driving distance to LI is great. This does include Atlantic City, Jersey Shore. It can also include a flight somewheer, but not "far". (Mexico far). Bahamas, key west?
The goal is to be able to relax, hang out. Pool, water, whatever. Florida/bahamas is hard because it might be really hot.
Any suggestions, driving or otheriwse?

ITA.
Key West is closer geographically than Mexico but, it probably takes longer to fly there with layovers and such.

did a wed-sun trip last month and flew to one of the islands on the west coast of florida. flew into sarasota, rented a car, rented a condo that was across the street from the beach. it was a very relaxing trip. and overall, not too expensive.

I just did a Sat - Tue trip to Savannah, GA and it was a great town! Lots of things to see within walking distance, incredible food, and you can definitely find a hotel with a pool.

I love Key West and would go no matter the weather. IT is the ultimate laid back attmosphere.
Also in FL Sanibel Island - you would fly into Ft Myers.
