Quick! Kitchen help please!

I have no cooking spray or Crisco and I need to make a cake or brownies or something. AND i don't have a car to run to the store!

What can I use to grease the pan?
Butter burns too quickly, so I can't use that either. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks Chat Icon

Do you have any cooking oil? I'm ASSuming you meant you don't have Crisco shortning?

butter and flour

eta: do you have any veg oil, or canola oil? Don't know how they will come out, but at least they won't stick

No flour?

So then try pouring a teeny tiny bit of veggie oil on a paper towel and rubbing down the dish. That should prevent it from sticking and as long as its a small amount I don't think it will affect taste.

Or, I could just stop by with some Pam and give it to you as a housewarming gift Chat Icon

Re: Quick! Kitchen help please!

For future reference=

AWESOME SHOWER GIFT idea!
Basket of veggie oil, shortening, olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, flour, etc. ALL the stuff you need to get a kitchen up and running...stuff that you just don't think of when you're in the grocery store!

I'm sure you've made them already, but for next time ...
Instead of butter and flour for the pan, I use butter and them dust it with the brownie mix. It works great!

This is what I do too. It keeps the cake, etc from getting the white dust on the outside.

For next time, if you have a nonstick or silcon pan, then you don't need Crisco.
