Questions re: sonograms...

so the last time we were at the OB, she did not do a sonogram, we just heard the heartbeat with a little machine that looks like a type recorder, I was about 14 weeks.
Do you think I would get to see DC at my next appt? I'll be 18 weeks, and the appt is on my 30th bday! Seeing my little bean (and maybe finding out the gender), would be a great bday present! Chat Icon

Re: Questions re: sonograms...

Prob not. Did you do your 12 week ultrascreen?

Your next sono will probably be the big one, the Level II, at 18-20. Typically, I don't believe there are any sonos btwn 12 and 20 weeks.

Re: Questions re: sonograms...

It depends on your OB and your insurance. I get no sono's in my OBs office. I have to go to an outside facility and only get two sono's through my pregnancy. Ultrascreen and Level II. I will be getting 3 extra sono's in my 3rd trimester though due to some test results that came back on the low side.

I do get to listen to the heartbeat though at each visit.

I did have the ultrascreen at 12 weeks, but the tech was not very nice, didn't say a word to me, didn't explain anything, then gave me 2 very fuzzy pictures of DC. I was so disappointed Chat Icon
My level II is scheduled for Sept. 29th.. so far away!

Re: Questions re: sonograms...

I doubt you'll get a sono. Most doctors don't give sonos between the ultrascreen and Level II.
